What should my next car be
With the gtr down and out i'm in the search for my next car. Its going to be tuned for road racing and circuit courses. feel free to add any pros or cons as well. I'm not looking for any more than 600whp on any of them, and probably not more than 500whp on a rwd platform
1. 240sx with a full race R14 kit (rb26dett with attesa AWD)
Pros
I have the motor and tranny and will have 600whp
Lighter chassis than the R33
Damn near full race spec
cons
Damn near full race spec
possibly not be a street car anymore
Same unreliability of the r33
Wiring
est cost $22000
2. supercharged 350z
pros
chassis/drivetrain i'm familiar with.
Good reliability
full streetability/AC/interior
N/A like powerband
cons
most likely maximum of 450whp
heavy chassis
Est cost 25-32000
3. FD RX-7 with a LS swap(most likely LS3)
Superlight chassis with near 50:50 front to rear wieght distro
easily 500 N/A whp
reliable engine
relatively good on gas
50 state emissions legal (even CARB)
cons
older chassis
sacreligous
est cost 30,000
4.R35 GTR
pros
its a GTR
cons
Heavy chassis
upkeep costs
leaves no extra cash to mod it
5 1994 toyota supra TT
pros
bought and owned by my dad so i know its full history, fully stock only ~60,000 miles
streetable
2JZ motor
cons
Not the best handling car
heavy chassis
est cost
30,000
6. 2011+ STI sedan
pros
best sti chassis yet.
boxer motor
streetable
cons
reliability over 500whp
heavy chassis
est cost 43000

I assume you ment 600whp and not 60whp.
Personally I would think go for the Supra since you know the history. Im not a big fan of buying someone elses left over build. Plus Supra's are sick as hell.

i would say no to supra if you are road racing it.
i promise im not being biased but if you want a streetable yet road course car id go sti or gtr. but upkeep on gtr is insane.

Agreed on the upkeep.
As for the sti, the only thing I worry about is cresting that 500whp mark, I really don't know if I want to deal with race gas. I need to take a long look at meth injection as a viable substitute.

Meth is way more reliable than e85 in my opinion. Look into it. All of your choices are sick but I think has there place, if you didn't wanna street it I'd go with r14 kit since it stands out. What's the most important to you?

-bad MPG
-VERY inconsistent, verys with each full up
-not avail every where, so unless youre vehilce comes from the factory for it, you have to switch tuning maps.
-increase in duty cycle
- can damage fuel components.
I pasted this from another thread I posted this in. I am no expert at all so please don't thrash me if not 100% but this based off of my experience and studying of it.

You won't see 450whp from a S/C 350Z w/o a built engine. And if you're going to spend that cash might as well go twins or LS swap. Why not a used Viper? They a built around the 'Ring.

e85 will not be an option for at a minimum of 2 and a half years, the nearest station that i could fill up at here is 40 minutes away. Its actually easier for me to get c16 than e85.
As for the Z, I was in the low 400's on a 3.12 pulley on my last vq35DE, If I used a 2.87 or a 2.62 inch pulley on a t trim it would easily get my to or past
Really the only reason I favor the S/C is temp issues, running a self contained oil system on the S/C vs running twins and feeding em off the engine oil supply. Even with dual coolers, doing more than 1 hot lap might be improbable.
The VQ will of course be a built motor, weak rods ftl.
